Tougher Than The Rest (MacLarens of Fire Mountain Book 1)
I was sent a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When Niall and his brothers Jamie, Drew, and Will lose their parents, they have to face the fact they are alone in the world. Unless they travel all the way from Ohio to Arizona so they can live with their nearest relative. Once they get to Arizona, life changes for them. Then the book changes and jumps forwards. Twelve years have passed and Niall is a prosper rancher with a lovely daughter. He meets Kate by chance and they immediately feel their world spin around. Will their paths come across again? Destiny can be very funny sometimes and it can surprise you with the most unexpected things. Romance set in the wild west.
I have enjoyed reading this western romance, and indeed it kept me turning the pages non-stop. However, I found it too stereotypical, formulaic, and predictable. It lacked those plot twists that I like so much, those twists that make you really love what you are reading. Besides, the author tells a lot and leaves very little to the readers' imagination. There are certain parts of the book that I would have liked to be shown, not told.
Typos, missing words and formatting errors make me suggest that the book needs one more edit so readers can enjoy it even better.
